La revista <em>Lux</em> fue y sigue siendo la revista corporativa del Sindicato Mexicano de electricistas. En 1936 la dirección decidió incluir imágenes —fotografías o ilustraciones— en sus publicaciones. La relación entre el gobierno y los creadores de la revista supuso que todas la imágenes que aparecieron, a partir del periodo señalado, respondieran a los intereses del régimen; en este caso, conformar una identidad visual de clase, así como un modelo de ciudadano. De este modo, la revista, informativa en sus inicios, se convirtió en un órgano propagandístico estatal, que legitimaba las políticas del régimen ostrevolucionario. Algunos de sus intereses fueron el de realzar el vínculo entre obrero trabajador y Estado protector, o convertir la energía eléctrica, y por tanto a sus representantes, en un símbolo del proceso modernizador propulsado por el gobierno: la luz era el remedio a las tinieblas de la ignorancia y el analfabetismo.
The magazine <em>Lux</em> was, and still is, the corporative periodical of the Mexican electricians’ union. In 1936 the directors decided to include images—photographs or illustrations—in their publications. The relation between the government and the creators of the periodical was such that henceforth all the images that appeared would reflect the interests of the régime; in this case, the building of a visual class identity, as well as a model of citizenship. Thus the magazine, which began as an informational periodical, was transformed into an organ of state propaganda, that legitimated the policies of the post-revolutionary régime. Some of its efforts were directed at heightening the link between industrial workers and the protecting state or the making of electrical energy, and hence of its representatives, a symbol of the modernization process promoted by the government: electric light became the remedy for the shadows of ignorance and illiteracy.
