Entre lo mortal, la perpetuidad y las identidades comunitarias Description An account of the resource Las tumbas de tiro son sepulturas que se encuentran en diferentes lugares de Jalisco, Nayarit, Colima y Michoacán. Allí fueron enterrados los portadores de la cultura igualmente nombrada de las tumbas de tiro, junto a una gran profusión de vasijas cerámicas y esculturas. Las primeras están ornamentadas con imágenes abstractas —como motivos geométricos o fantásticos—, mientras las segundas tienen decoraciones de tipo figurativo: animales, plantas, humanos, etc. Habitualmente se considera que las de tipo figurativo tuvieron una intención mimética, mientras las otras quisieron aludir a una realidad supraterrenal. Este estudio se centra en argumentar que, no únicamente las que refieren a una realidad imaginaria, todas las representaciones que se encuentran en los objetos encontrados en las tumbas aluden a conceptos, pues las posiciones forzadas y la idea que el pueblo mesoamericano tenía de la realidad refuerzan la relación de estos motivos con lo sagrado y lo sobrenatural. Shaft tombs are graves found in different parts of Jalisco, Nayarit, Colima and Michoacán. They were the final resting places of the bearers what is also referred to as the shaft-tomb culture, characterized by the vast profusion of ceramic vessels and sculptures that accompanied them. The former are ornamented with abstract images—such as geometric or fantastic motifs—while the latter have decorations of a figurative type: animals, plants, human beings, etc. Habitually it is considered that those of figurative type had a mimetic intention, while the others were intended to allude to a supra-terrenal reality. The nucleus of this study is the argument that not only those representations referring to an imaginary reality, but all those found on the objects in the tombs, allude to concepts, since their forced positions and the idea that the Mesoamerican people had of reality strengthen the relation between these motifs and the sacred and supernatural.
